Default Volusion Thumbnail Generator

Hello All,

We have just finished rewriting the thumbnail generator. If you would like to play with it, click here.

After you unzip the file, run the Setup.exe file.

The setup will create a folder on your desktop with a Photos and Thumbnails directory. You can use these directories or your own.

We are going to create a Training Video for the thumbnail generator when we get some time

The generator is still in beta, so if you get an error let us know.

This new version of the TMG is perfection! it covers thumbnail generation for the Volusion site perfectly now. My favorite addition to the new tool is the ability to now specify your width and lenth instead of only being able to resize based off of aspect ratio which the old tool did not allow.

Also the ability to now use a .csv file makes things simpler for most, since now there is no more need to own a copy of Access..

Thanks Jake, great work!

Blaine

sorry guys

the file is compressed using winRAR. Here is another link to the file that should open with the default windows compression program.

The default compression program is not that great, i suggest downloading winRAR from here. It's a much better compression tool. Very handy when it comes to backing up your website.

Hi All,

I have been reading about some problems some of you are having the the Generator.

Please let me know about them in this post.

Also, make sure you are downloading the latest version (1.0.2) of the TG.

1. DPI should be 72 default IMHO.

2. Still does not do alternate views, or give options on this.

3. Minor headache when installing. It appears you need to first uninstall the previous version. First time I installed this figuring out the .net was a headache. If possible, making it part of the install would be nice.

4. Using the link, version is still saying 1.01, yet dates on the installer are 1/12/06.

Default Problems with Volusion TNG

Just want to know if anyone has had a similar problem with the thumbnail program Volusion has created.
I had tried the older version of the thumbnail generator and it had worked fine, so I started gathering new images from my products, about 1,150.
I then went to run the program, it kept bugging out on my. Just crashing when I went to run the program. So I downloaded the new version. The new version wont can’t even run the test file included when I installed. Whether it is the test file or my actual images, I get an unexpected exception and has to quit.
I would expect to see the error 'Image not found' when trying the test .csv, but no.
I am just wondering if anyone has any advice because now I am stuck with over one thousand images that now to be renamed by hand so I can batch convert them with the right product codes. Any help would be appreciated.
*Note: I am re-installed 3 times. I have the new version of .Net. I also turned off my antivirus while installing once to make sure there was no interference.

How do you choose the correct version of .NET Can someone please provide a link for a 64 bit processor, also the 32 bit? This would be extremely helpful! Thank you!
