Default How to file theft report?

Hi,

I do not mean to appear clueless but I guess I am. How do you file a theft report on an order? For example in New York City how do you know where to file the report?

What about a city in Canada for example?

Not sure where to start.
Any information you can provide would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Teddy

Do a search for the zipcode and find which county the theft was performed in. Then, contact that county's police department. That should get you started in the right direction.

Actually, you will always have to file a police report with your local police department first and then they have to file it in the location the fraud took place. It is a slow and tedious process but I think it's worth it.. It adds to the filed fraud statistics and there is alway that one chance that you will find a DA who wants a fraud conviction on his resume.....

Default Where to file?

Hi,
In our case the receipients are often different than the customer who placed the order. We find that they often work together on the theft so we would like to file against both the Sender and the Receipient so would you file a theft report against both people in two different towns or only one or the other?

Thanks
