We're trying to set up something that pulls order data -- similar to what you see when you print an invoice or packing slip from the "Orders"--> "Orders" page. Basically, we need to print out data from each order onto a small sheet of paper that travels around our facility with our product until the product is shipped out.
Does anyone out there do anything like this? I've looked at the Volusion Google Gadget and the other options involving the Volusion API, but I'm not exactly sure how to implement this. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. |

Try the Volusion API. Orders export explanation is found on this page - http://devwiki.volusion.com/index.php/Orders_Export
If you play with it a bit, you should be able to get the information you want, then you may want to merge it with ms word to get your order sheets printed out the way you want. I'm not a programmer, but I have had someone working on a solution like this for me so I know it can be done. Maybe post your question in the API section of the forum.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I looked into the API previously, but it seemed kind of cumbersome to download all records from a given time period, save the file and then use Word to format a record so we can print a label. Ideally, I'd like to have something "live" -- basically query the database for an order number, and just pull a few fields of data into a program (web browser, or anything else) where we can print that data out for internal use. I'm still surprised this basic "internal paper ticket" functionality does not exist within the Volusion system. I will try asking in the API forum. Thanks again. |

We use the a copy of the printed invoice as an internal paper ticket for each order. Is there additional information, other than what appears on the invoice that you need?
