Default Possible Fraud attempt referred by this forum

Other - 7/16/2008
today via 67.191.48.21

This IP address appears to have attempted to defraud me of $500 via a fraudulent Pay pal transaction. They appear to have found my site address through this forum as Volusion forums appears as te refferal on my Volusion software.

What can I do o stop these attempts. This is my first occurrence.

Got another one referred from here right after I posted this thread. I don't get it. Don't people have anything better to do?

I'm curious, you do not have any personal information or list a website on your profile. So how are this person (or people0 finding you?

Perhaps the name of your site draws Cosa Nostra types???

That ip is Florida.

How did they attempt to fraud you?

You say a fraud PayPal transaction? Did they just not complete their payment?

What makes you say it's fraud?

Like the previous poster asked. What makes you suspect it is fraud?

I don't find it funny at all.

After further review, we were lacking a necessary verification in our Pay Pal process and it is now corrected on my end.

Madmax, what verification are you referring to on PayPal?

We found that is is not fraud, but rather a nuisance for my accounting team and I. We are new at e commerce, so this issue might not have been a big deal for an experienced team, but it was taken more seriously by us due to our lack of experience.

About 5 minutes ago, We simply chose to stop receiving Pay Pal payments, as a review of our orders show none of my customer base uses Pay Pal. Now, if they want to play games, they can go somewhere else.
