Default My Own Orders Count as Affiliate Orders

The orders that I place on my store (on behalf of customers that call in), show as affiliate sales.

I'm using the Volusion affiliate program. It appears that by testing my affiliate links, I'm being tracked in the system.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know of a fix other than never clicking on one of my affiliate links?

I ran into this when setting up our store. Use firefox and clear your cookies immediately after clicking on an affiliate link. EVERY TIME. Then you will have to login again.

All our phone orders still show up with the affiliate I clicked on in the referral section but not up where the actual affiliate link to the order shows. I am wondering if you are making the same mistake I did in thinking that because the affiliate showed in the referral history on the phone order, that he was getting credit for all the phone orders which he is not. Have you checked the affiliate stats to see if this is the case or not. If your affiliate is getting credit for your phone orders then the problem is is definitely your cookies.
Use firefox and set it to always clear private data when closing (esp cookies) and develop the habit of clearing your cookies manually whenever you are testing something esp re affiliates.

Thanks KJ. Yes, I was looking at the referral section. However, I just checked the affiliate stats and the orders are showing up there as well.

I was hoping not to have to clear cookies so often - oh well.

Thanks for the help.

Default Affiliate Stats & Phone Orders

The simplest solution to this dilema is to clear your cookies, then do not click on links from your affiliates in the future!

On significant drawback to the Phone Order Page is that it picks up a reference from the last place YOU were if there is a affiliate or an advertising campaign. It would be great if it did NOT do this.
